Inktober 2019 – Day 5: Build

I really struggled with Inktober today. I’ve never had artist block quite so bad before. At first I tried drawing a pile of Lego, then a treehouse, and finally settled on a little nest.

I think drawing small and sticking to limited materials really helped.

Maybe I’ll try to invest a bit more time in tomorrow’s piece to feel more proud. I suppose the important thing is just that there’s something on the paper.

Ever since I was a child, I've loved art. I could do it for hours and hours and hours. Over the years I've fallen back in love with art and now design and sell digital and watercolour pieces.

  1. I like your nest. Very creative. I agree that keeping things small and simple really helps. I’m doing all my Inktober drawings on a 1/2-sheet of paper from my 9 x 12 sketchbook. It feels really good. I don’t have to worry about filling up a big sheet of paper.
