2021 Roundup

Something that you may not know about me is that I love New Year. Not just for the celebration, but also the writing of new resolutions and reflecting on last years’ goals. I’m one of those people who will do a mid-year review and look for themes from previous years.

2021 was the first real year where I invested meaningful time (and money if we’re being honest) into selling art. So in celebration, I wanted to do a roundup of the year and celebrate some of Art JMT’s successes. They may seem tiny to some people, but given everything else that I’ve achieved in my personal life, I think it’s overall been a pretty successful year.

So without further ado, here are the highlights from 2021:

▪️ I attended craft fairs throughout the year (when covid permitted) and made an actual real profit. (Technically, my first was in October 2020, but it was a last-minute space before things really got going, so I won’t count it.)

▪️ I started receiving commission requests and have two more in the pipeline for early 2022. This is definitely something that I’d like to do more of next year.

▪️ I completed two art challenges (#ipadartchallenge and #inktober2021). For anyone that’s attempted daily drawing challenges, you’ll know the time commitment required!

▪️ I’ve started working with 3 other businesses through advertising and events (possibly more on this early next year).

I feel like there’s lots more that I could say, but I’ll end it on a big THANK YOU for following along with this little side project and giving me your time and support.

I’m going to take a few more days to rest and recharge over what was an overwhelming year, but I’m really looking forward to sharing some projects in the coming months.

Here’s to a healthy and happy 2022 ❤️
