Inktober 2017 – day 1: Swift

Here we are!

This was my first time using copic markers (well, any markers). I liked using them a lot! I’m not sure I really improved it by adding the black outline. Maybe next time I’ll try using the darker purple as the outline? 

Initially I focused so much on the colour I forgot about form and actual mark making, but I’ll get there with practise. 

Here’s the post I made where I outlined what I was going to try and achieve this Inktober. I used a reference picture because I wanted to focus on scale, using the materials and producing work quickly. I told myself I wouldn’t use pencil though, so every mark is permanent.
